The work
Goldee’s is a counter-service barbecue joint in south Fort Worth. The kitchen runs Thursday to Sunday and serves until it sells out, and the meat is smoked overnight before any of it reaches the line.
That means early starts, steady hands at the slicer, and people out front who can keep a long line patient and well looked after.
What we look for
Turning up when you said you would, looking after the people next to you, and caring about the plate that leaves the counter.
Experience helps, but it is not the thing we screen for. Most of what happens here is taught on the job to people who want to learn it.
